Standard 123259
. This certification is a legal requirement when applying for a Category D Professional Driving
Permit (PrDP-D)
and confirms that the driver is trained to transport dangerous goods in line with South African
regulations.

How Your HazChem Certification Helps You

HazChem certification allows you to legally transport dangerous goods on South African roads and apply for a Category D Professional Driving Permit (PrDP-D). It confirms that you meet national legal and safety requirements, protecting you from fines, penalties, and work stoppages.

The certification also improves your road readiness. You gain practical knowledge on handling hazardous loads, understanding documentation, and responding correctly in emergencies.

Accreditation and Road Readiness

Our HazChem Driver Training is fully accredited and aligned with Unit Standard 123259, meeting the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act and SANS 10231. On successful completion, drivers receive a recognised Certificate of Competence required when applying for a Category D Professional Driving Permit (PrDP-D).

Beyond accreditation, the training focuses on real road readiness. Drivers leave knowing exactly what is expected of them on the road from correct documentation and vehicle placarding to safe driving practices and emergency response.
